I was born was born and raised in a small town in northern Illinois. After graduating from Western Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in Education, I spent the next 20 years teaching general music and 3rd grade (my favorite!). With a husband who had entered the Insurance industry 7 years prior to this time, we then moved our family to many different states as he pursued his career.
Our family moved to Texas the summer of 2013. My husband had been in Texas working for 7 months, and I had been offered a part-time position at The Brokerage. Ross and Cheryl graciously gave me time to unpack boxes, but Open Enrollment was coming and I would be working with applications specifically from United HealthCare and Care Improvement Plus. Since I was already familiar with the Election Period Booklet, SEP reasons and Part A and B dates did not scare me. As a former 3rd grade teacher, my job seemed similar. Daily, I am still trying to decipher hand writing and make sure all the blanks of an application are filled in.
Since recently purchasing a house in Highland Village, my husband and I are putting down our Texas roots. We have been blessed with two wonderful boys and a special daughter-in-law. Our oldest is married and lives in Florida. Our youngest is attending college here in Texas. We are actually looking forward to our next adventure – being “Empty Nesters”.
