Contracting Made Simple

You will need the following to complete your contracts:

  • E&O Certificate (may be requested below)
  • Voided Check
  • LTCI CE Certificate (for LTC appointments)
  • Tax ID number (If contracting an agency)

SuranceBay is a system for easily filling out your contracting paperwork.  You cannot check the status of  your appointment here.  For status, contact our Contracting Department at 800-442-4915.

Surancebay makes contracting with multiple carriers simple.  Simply fill out your information one time and submit to as many carriers as you wish.

We can provide $1,000,000 E&O at no cost to you through The Brokerage, Inc.  (This will only cover you for business placed through The Brokerage, Inc., and will not pay if you have your own E&O coverage.)

Can I check the status of my appointments on SuranceBay?

No.  SuranceBay simply fills out the paperwork.  You will have to check contracting status through our contracting department, 800-442-4915.

What is a JIT (just in time) appointment?

A JIT appointment is a contract will be processed when your first piece of business is submitted.  Carriers who use the just in time process are: American General, Banner, Genworth Life & LTC, Gerber, Kemper, Lincoln Financial, Medico, Metlife, North American, Prudential, SBLI, Security Life, Transamerica Life, and Washington National.

What carriers charge appointment fees?

What is the general processing time for a contract?

Contracts generally take 5-7 days to be processed.  Some may take longer depending on background checks and other factors out of our control.  We will follow up on contracts for you to be sure they are being processed as quickly as possible.

Can I transfer an existing contract to The Brokerage?

Yes, you are able to transfer contracts, however, carriers have different policies and procedures for transfers.  Please contact our contracting department to learn more.
