Retail Marketing 101
April 14, 2023The Brokerage has been assisting our partners with retail marketing for over 17 years now.
Though it has changed over time, it has remained a reliable source for marketing to Medicare and ACA beneficiaries during the enrollment season and for some agents, it’s a year-round initiative. In this episode, we sat down with Jamie Gaskill to learn more.
What programs are available?
We partner directly with Walmart and HEB, as well as some carrier-related pharmacy opportunities.
Outside of that, many agents have found success going out on their own and forming partnerships with local establishments, such as family-owned grocery stores, dollar stores, etc. This works especially well in small rural communities.
What does it cost?
Walmart usually costs $1,500 to secure a spot during AEP. The commitment is 20 hours a week, 3 days a week.
For other opportunities, the cost varies depending on what you are able to negotiate.
Who is this a good fit for?
Retail is not for everyone. If you don’t like to meet people in-person, you won’t like retail.
We will be offering some training opportunities as we approach AEP to help you prepare.
How do I get plugged in?
Stay tuned over the next few months for “Retail Marketing” emails from us.
